Sandy Bridge processor i7-2630QM from Intel: Spotted in specs lists

Since we heard about the new Sandy Bridge processor line from Intel, to be released early in 2011, we’ve been waiting to see the second-generation Core processors turn up in a specs list and that has now happened as the Intel Core i7-2630QM chip is coming to an update of the HP Pavilion dv7.

This news comes to us from Vlad Savov over on Engadget, sourced from HP, and the 2GHz quad-core processor is listed on some specs for the update of the dv7 that also includes the Intel HM55 chipset. Now this CPU is still unannounced officially (expected to be released at CES in January) and there’s no confirmation from Intel but Savov also tells us that Laptoping has also been spreading its feelers and found more.

Laptoping has been looking into online retailers for laptops and found specs from Acer, Gateway and Lenovo that will also include the i7-2630QM chip and it’s an excellent sign that so many manufacturers are already prepared for the official release of the Sandy Bridge processor line.
