iPhone, iPod and iPad: Growing musical scene

It seems there’s a new musical scene these days which is not based around traditional musical instruments and what’s more there’s actually some pretty good music coming from this scene. I’m talking about music from apps on iPods, iPads and iPhones which is becoming increasingly more impressive.

Over on Mashable Amy-Mae Elliott has put together 10 examples of this music with videos so you can actually hear for yourself and you’ll notice that mobile devices are really capable of some good musical creations. For example one is the ‘iPad Band’ where musician Geoff Kaiser has put together a great band all by himself, using iPad instruments such as drums, piano, guitar and even a xylophone.

You may already have heard of ‘Applegirl’, Kim Yeo-Hee, who uses a set-up of Apple iPhones and one of the videos in the Mashable article features her rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.” Her YouTube videos impressed so many people that she got a record deal out of it. There’s also a great clip of a band called an Atomic Tom performing “Take me Out” on the subway one morning with their iPhones. What a treat that must have been for people on their way to work that day.

For more on this and to see the videos go to mashable.com. Have you put together any great music using your mobile device? We’d be interested to hear so why not send us your comments.
