Google Chrome OS: Mario And Andretti Codenames
It appears that Google in the coming weeks will be releasing their Google branded (not manufactured) Netbooks. The first Notebooks will be built by someone else however you can bet your bottom dollar that they will be trying to find a way to cut the cost and do this internally.
Google has definitely been testing on other Netbooks as MG Siegler from techcrunch.com rightly says, they have been appearing on bug reports for the likes of the Asus Eee, various Dell models along with a few Lenovo ones.

So what’s with the codenames Mario and Andretti…? Well as auto fans will tell you, Mario Andretti is a retired Italian American world champion racing driver. He won races from different classes of racing that include Wold Sports Car Championship, NASCAR, Formula One and IndyCar, there are more but don’t want to go on… So was this something that was carefully planned by Google, to use a name like that? Perhaps it was just something that they came up with randomly and we are all making these crazy connections.
Either way, head on over to techcrunch.com and have a read. There are also some screenshots towards the bottom so be sure not to miss them. Can Google produce a device as hassle free as their search engine? I doubt it… Let me know what you think in the comments below.
