Samsung Nexus S Spotted Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread

We’ve been hearing various rumors about the Samsung Nexus S (previously known as the Nexus 2), for some time and at one point were not even sure if it was a myth. Then we heard the phone, which will be only the second Google branded handset following the Nexus One, was delayed because of a hardware issue.

Some of the features rumored to be on the Samsung Nexus S are a 4-inch AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera, 1.2GHz processor and 512MB of RAM and it was apparently set to be released concurrently with Android 2.3, commonly dubbed Gingerbread which still hasn’t appeared, for the public at least. Now it seems that some pictures have been taken of what looks like the Samsung Nexus S running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, according to Sean Hollister of Engadget, sourced from XDA-Developers.

The source for XDA-Developers has chosen to remain anonymous but if you want to see some pictures of Gingerbread in action then take a look at the shots at the links above. From the pictures of the Samsung Nexus S itself we can see it’s a very slim device with a distinct curve so that’s two teasers in one for you.
