Verizon LTE iPhone 4: Video Hints At Release

We have spoken to you recently about AT&T’s revenue taking a hit if or should I say when they lose the iPhone exclusivity with Apple and Verizon’s profits growing and now there is a Verizon video ad which seems to be causing a bit of a stir. Which you can see at the bottom of the article.

I have to say, I think this is a little premature as Apple normally release the their products in June of each year. I would be extremely surprised if that is what it is for. Joan Lee has written an article that implies that this could be for the Verizon iPhone but going by the comments on it, her readers will be agreeing with me, that this isn’t really hinting at a release yet.

I also don’t believe that an iPhone could work on LTE, surely that would be a new hardware release…? What do you guys think, am I right on this? I think that this is perhaps directed more at Verizon’s recent DSL being faster than all of it’s rivals however I could be wrong. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

    I dont see anything at the bottom of the article.

    While I dont think the VPhone will be LTE, it would not surprise me that much that Apple would launch such a shocker.

    If we are talking about the same commercial, I didnt see anything related to the iPhone.

    Honestly, I am not sure I even care anymore – okay, okay – so maybe I do care but only because I refuse to join AT&T's network after having left them in the mid-90's.

    My thoughts: Stop all the hinting and just release it. If it's not going to be available this year, then say so. (One would think that Big Red wouldn't want to lose postential sales this holiday waiting on the release of something that they know isn't going to be ready until after the frist of the year – but then again, they haven't stated that its *not* going to be available, have they???)

    Nothing like being a bunch of puppets; nor being played like one!

    This simply a commercial, with the emphasis on their "Rule the Air". Lightning fast speeds. LTE 4G Technology will be the fastest and most reliable 4G service and will soon be avail in December. This add is in now way related to a speculation of the iphone. It would be nice to have the iphone on Verizon Wireless when LTE is released. That would definitely be exciting.

      I agree. I don't get why everyone thinks this is for a iphone. to me it appears to be for the general or a network computer if anything. also, please make the announcement soon verizon/apple. I seriously CAN'T WAIT for iphone to come to verizon.

    the verizon commercial makes no reference to any apple product.. it is moronic to conclude the advertisement is for any particular phone.. it is simply a preface to the lte verizon network being implemented soon.. likely in december.. irresponsible journalism has led to this mass-hysteria in regards to the apple iphone coming to verizon wireless.. i am a verizon customer.. i will be purchasing a verizon iphone when the time arrives.. certainly not a cdma iphone though.. the launch of lte (long term evolution) by u.s. wireless providers merits waiting for an lte iphone whether that be with verizon, at&t or any other carrier.. wake up people!! start thinking for yourselves..

    Haha, I was thinking exactly what Magic said. I saw this commercial a few days ago and I dont think there is even a phone in it.

    Uhh… There's nothing in the commercial that hints at any type of phone. It's a lightning bolt, clearly meant to suggest that 4G LTE is lightning fast. Nothing more than that. Believe, if/when Verizon gets the iPhone you'll know it.

    It really wouldn’t be that big of a deal to make an LTE Iphone 4. They are made to be modular, it’s just a matter of swapping out the GSM module for an LTE and of course plenty of OS changes.. but it’s not that big of a deal at all.. doubt it would be a launch phone and you’re right they would probably wait for a real hardware refresh.

    No no and no. Common guys… really? Who would honestly believe that this has anything to do with a Verizon iPhone. Verizon does not even have any 4g LTE phones available yet so that can't showcase just one phone.

    What? Are you serious? Do you know anything about cell technology? LTE is the Long Term Evolution of cell technology, including GSM. The iPhone would in theory be compatible barring any bizarre proprietary mixing by Verizon.

    No Iphone sorry gents, I work for Verizon. I dont sell phones either I build the network and work with the big dogs at VZ. Also dont be fooled, Verizon is the only carrier to have a "4G" antenna on a tower. Sprint, Tmob, At&t all claim they have a "4G" network, well they dont and are straight liars. I own over 1200 towers in the midwest and not one has any "4G" antennas on them. Verizon will be the only and first to launch a complete LTE or 4G network. That's a fact jack. Oh and check At&t's contract they just raised the early cancelation about $200 cause they know if anyone found out the Iphone 4 they are using wont be 4G for another 2 years or so they would want to cancel. Now it will cost you.

    The commercial is basically announcing the release of the new 4G service…and what Verizon is pushing or will be pushing to use it with is their "internet service". They will have an awesome 4G service beginning 2011 but ..and here's the BIG BUT.. it won't be available everywhere..ha! You'll have to go to the Verizon website and plug in your address to see if it will be available in your area. Their site states that their 4G service will be available nationwide by 2013… 2 years later. I just checked my address..heck…the whole state of Alabama is excluded no 4G in 2011 for Alabama!
