Eee Note EA800: CES 2011 Preview

Asus has come up with a new name for its ‘Tablet’ PC, it will be named the Eee Note EA800 as oppose to its previous Eee Tablet. It looks very nice but can it hold its own in a revived, rejuvenated market? We will look at some of its features then you decide.

The Eee Note has 4GB internal storagem voice recorder, WiFi, a stylus, a microSD slot, a 2 megapixel camera and an 8” monochrome display at 768×1024. Now what I am wondering is why you would have a 2 megapixel camera on a device with a monochrome screen, I just don’t get that.

Had Asus made this into a color display I feel that the device would have been a hell of a lot more successful than it will be, I could be wrong and I guess only time will tell. I know though that had this device had a decent color screen I possibly would purchase one myself, without that for me it’s a no go. If you would like to see more pictures and read a little more about the Eee Note then head over to engadget.com.

What do you think of the device? Will you be picking one up? Do you agree with me? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below

It deinately has my interest. I have been staying away from the market because the devices that are available are either too small or too expensive. The 9" screen is an attractive features along with good note taking abilities. Still before I buy anything I want to be able to handle it. I would like to put my own PDF files on it, and see how they are handled. (Academic double column)
