New iPhone Embedded SIM Cancelled: iPad Still a Go

There has been a recent made that Apple will be pulling the plug on the embedded SIM cards for the iPhone due to threats from the carriers. Parent companies of Orange, Vodaphone and O2 are possibly a little worried or frustrated that Apple is trying to control them. Why would Apple even want to do this, it doesn’t make sense to me.

So what would actually happen if Apple does that to the iPhone, an all out war between manufacturers and carriers with the iPhone contracts being pulled, could that actually happen? According to Apple they are doing this to simplify the setup, now I don’t know about you guys but the setup wasn’t all that difficult really was it?

Now if Apple were to do the same thing with the iPad, what sort of effect would that have, I mean the latest iPad hasn’t even been released yet so there is still time for the Apple guys to include embedded SIMs and how would that effect the retailing of the new device? To read more about this, head over to electronista.com to read more about this story.

If either of these devices had an embedded SIM would that put you off? Let us know in the comments below.
