iPad with iOS 4.2 Review: A Good Start

We are all eagerly awaiting the iOS 4.2 update, the gold master 4.2.1 has already been passed to developers. According to various sources and indeed our article by OSM’s very own Debbie Turner that the new 4.2 update will be available today at 1:00pm EST and 6:00pm GMT for the UK. The release promises a few changes for the iPhone but major changes for the iPad.

Some of the changes for the iPad included mail improvements, folder size improvements and perhaps most importantly the addition of multitasking. Are you wondering exactly what all of the changes will be? If you are then you can head over to engadget.com where Joshua Topolsky has pieced together the puzzle and added screenshots with an explanation of each update.

So why are these features so important to the iPad is what I have been wondering. If we look at the multitasking, despite the fact that the iPhone has indeed got more RAM than the iPad, it has to be said that the iPad already copes extremely well with the new OS and in fact can run multiple apps without any problem.

Do you think the iOS update will be released today? Do you think this is true? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
