Blogmeter Social Media Conference- What Do They Do With Your Data?

Ever had that fear someone is watching your every move? Ok, maybe this is a bit of an exaggeration, but Blogmeter, one of Europe’s leading social media monitoring services is sponsoring Monitoring Social Media 2010. This is Europe’s most important social media monitoring conference.

The Social Media Conference took place today, Monday 22nd November 2010, in London. Last year’s conference covered the topic of how best to listen to customers. This year, as well as tackling this question, the conference was also answering, ‘Now that I have all this data, how can I use it?’.

Growmap.com chose to say “The quality and expertise of the speakers was awesome, they entertained and shared valuable insights.”

One of the topics covered looked at how Twitter can be used for market research. The speaker, Nicolas Saintagne, looked at how to categorise the opinions and how Twitter can be successfully used for market intelligence.

At the current moment in time Blogmeter social media monitoring service runs in: France, the UK, Germany, Portugal, the USA and Spain. There are also plans to cover Russia, Austria and Poland by the middle of 2011.

So next time you’re Tweeting consider this; how much information about yourself are you posting online? Could you be telling someone too much of your personal details.
