Dixons Drops Toshiba Folio Tablet

Following a high return rate, the Toshiba Folio has now been dropped from the Dixons stores, Dixons aren’t the only store to be losing faith with the tablet, PC World are also temporarily stopping the sale of the device.

The Folio was retailing at £329 and Toshiba wanted this to rival the ever popular iPad. It has a 10.1” screen, 16GB of storage and also running on the Android 2.2 platform but you would have to download only the Toshiba brand of apps. I don’t know about you but I haven’t seen too many of them…

Plenty of people have been saying that Tablets will have big sales this Christmas but was this wishful thinking on Toshiba’s part, trying to get a piece of the pie from a market that is Apple dominated. Not only that but Samsung have the Galaxy Tab running on the Android system as well with a much less return rate. What next for Toshiba? I think back to the drawing board guys. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below
