Giorgio Armani Samsung Galaxy S: Would you pay over $950?

We spotted an intriguing little story today about the new Giorgio Armani Samsung Galaxy S handset which will be available sometime in December in many European countries, including the U.K. and also in China, Dubai and Hong Kong.

The exclusive phone looks exactly the same as the Samsung Captivate which released on AT&T several months ago in the U.S. according to an article by Vlad Savov on Engadget, sourced from WWD Fashion. Apparently though, people who purchase this Giorgio Armani handset will get a bit more for their money as there is some extra multimedia.

The handset has a 4-inch AMOLED touch screen, 5-megapixel camera and 16GB of memory but the designer price may surprise many though as it will retail for around €700, that’s about US $965. We have to ask the question, is the Armani name really worth that inflated price tag? OK, it may not be as much as the world’s most expensive phone, but it’s still a hefty amount.
