Kin One and Two from Microsoft making a comeback

Here’s a rather odd piece of news for you. Do you remember the Microsoft Kin One and Two handsets that came out earlier in the year? The devices were aimed at those who used social media frequently but after poor sales and after Verizon initially cutting the prices, the handsets were both dropped.

The phones had only been on the market for 3 months so it was a real blow for Microsoft especially when you consider the resources and time spent developing the phones. The rather suprising news today is that the Kin One and Two are now making a comeback on Verizon. Stan Schroeder over on Mashable reports that a leaked Verizon Q4 road map, which came from PPCGeeks shows both phones will be back on the inventory.

The phones will be available without data-plans and it was originally thought because users had to purchase a rather expensive data-plan previously, this may have been the stumbling block for sales the first time around, especially considering the market the phones were aimed at mainly consisted of younger people.

It remains to be seen though whether the Kin’s will cause any interest second time around or as Mashable.com says, maybe Verizon are just hoping to get rid of its stock. What do you think of the Kin One and Two? Maybe you purchased one originally, or plan to buy one now? Why not send us your comments.
