Veterans Day 2010: Twitter #where they served and add to map

Veterans Day 2010 is today, November 11, and is a very special day in the U.S.A. where people pay tribute and give thanks to all the military personnel who have served in any war for the U.S. People will mark the day, and this following weekend, with special services and parades in honor of veterans.

Although Veterans Day has existed for many years, some effects of modern day life are impacting upon it and one impressive contribution is detailed over on TBD by Daniel Victor. If you want to share a personal story or thank a veteran personally then you can find a map where you will be able to place a pin to mark where somebody served and then add information telling about that person and their experiences of war.

All you need is a Google account and then there are step-by-step instructions for exactly what to do next. If you have a Twitter account you can also tweet a link to the information you’ve added on #where they served. What better way to pay tribute and show gratitude to Veterans than to proudly show where they served.
