Boxee Box Announce Netflix & Hulu Plus Coming Soon

Boxee Box has announced at it’s U.S. and Canada launch event, that it will begin shipping with support from Netflix Streaming joining hopefully by the end of the year and Hulu Plus after that. Users to the Boxee Box will still be able to rent movies via the Vudu service.

According to Sean Portnoy at ZDNet, although D-Link’s Box is priced on the higher end of the scale at $199 topping that of Apple‘s new TV, it still needs to be recognised for it’s fantastic features. Powered by the same Intel CE4100 processor as Google TV, it supports 1080p HD streaming, 802.11n WiFi and comes complete with a pair of USB 2.0 ports and HDMI connection. When looking at the device’s remote this in itself comes complete with control buttons on one side and on the other a QWERTY keypad to input text for online social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

At this stage it is difficult to predict how Boxee Box with it’s latest offering will compare against current competitors such as Google and Apple. But with new features listed and a price war set to take place, who knows, Boxee Box may become the leaders in TV and movie streaming after all.
