Kinect Rejected First By Apple: Microsoft Benefits

We have all heard about it, and looked forward to it finally arriving, but were you aware that Apple was the first port of call when developers PrimeSense were looking for a company to market it.

Of course we are referring to Kinect, Microsoft‘s latest and possibly greatest addition to their Xbox 360. T3 say that Inon Beracha, CEO at PrimeSense along with his team felt that Apple “were the most natural place for the technology.”

Unfortunately the partnership with Apple was a white wash of red tape, privacy agreements and non-disclosure. This left Beracha in the position of being swallowed up by Apple and in his words made it, “a pain in the ass.”

Luckily Microsoft managed to step up and turn the Kinect system into one of the most massively anticipated releases just ahead of Christmas this year. Kinect is likely to be on the top of most Xbox 360 users wish list, with expected sales said to hit over 800,000 units.

Do you think Apple will be kicking itself come the festive season whilst they watch Microsoft Kinect filling everyone’s stocking? Check out T3 to read more.
