With Facebook’s user base growing by the day pulling in an impressive 500 million or so people, today’s news will only add to that number. For now, the British Royal Family have joined Facebook.

You may well be thinking that each member of the British monarchy has their very own Facebook profile page but no sadly it is an official page that you will be able to access Monday morning. Lauren Indvik at Mashable reported that this isn’t the first time that the Royals have decided to join in with social networking, for they are already signed up to video-sharing YouTube back in 2007, they joined Twitter only last year and photo-sharing Flickr early part of 2010.

Now with the official page, you can be kept up-to-date with the movements of the Royal Family members, speeches, news, photos, videos and links. In accordance with the new page, Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and the Royal Collection will join together to give you the very best service. Royal members will include HRH Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, William and of course Harry. Once logged onto the page a quick press of the “Like” button will keep you informed of all updates automatically.
