Black Friday 2010: Target & Walmart Deals Compared

With Black Friday pre-sales already underway leading up to the ultimate shopping day on November 26, for most retail stores they already know what deals will be featured on their Black Friday 2010 ads. To get any predictions on expected sales figures, stores will have to look back at last year’s ads. This can be achieved by looking through Sears deals from 2009.

Peter Chubb over at PR News has looked into this along with two stores that are likely to dominate the sales, Target and Walmart. Indications show that Target had some 266 doorbuster deals although Walmart was closely behind. Doorbuster deals are a way of enticing customers through the door as early as possible with price cutting deals. It’s a good way of getting consumers to spend as much as possible. So with this in mind who, out of the two stores will be the first to release their ad? PR News have been looking into this and it looks like Walmart will do this on November 17.

When comparing deals from last year, Walmart were at the top of their league in offering customers the cheapest Sat-nav’s, whilst Target looked to be at the top of it’s game with offers on Laptops and TVs. With shoppers wanting the ultimate bargin and their money to stretch a little further, as well as the items listed, gaming discounts will feature highly within stores. It is difficult to gauge whether tablet devices will be reduced as they are a new concept to the tech market.
