BBC iPlayer Application Now Avaliable For BlackBerry

If you are a UK resident, chances are you have used the BBC iPlayer. One of its greatest benefits is that you don’t need to own a TV License to use it, so it’s hugely popular with students like me. One of my favourite things to do each week is to watch The Apprentice on my iPod Touch, and now those with Blackberry’s can do the same thanks to the new Blackberry iPlayer application.

According to Christina Warren over on Mashable.com, the new application is free and can be downloaded from the BlackBerry App World. Supported phones include the BlackBerry Bold 9700, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and the Blackberry Storm 2. The app is reported to work over 3G and WiFi.

If you don’t have a BlackBerry, there is also a version of the app which is available on Nokia’s Symbian phones, and those using the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad can access the iPlayer by simply visiting the website on their device. Those who use the service will tell you how useful the service is, and the more devices that people can use to access the iPlayer on, the better.
