Xbox Kinect: Released Nov 4 With High Sales Expectations Of 5 Million

With Microsoft’s Kinect being released today in the U.S, the much publicised Xbox accessory has made the computer giants re-evaluate their sales projections.

According to BGR, Don Mattrick of Microsoft said in an interview that for the holiday season Kinect sales should be up from 3 million to 5 million units. This would smash the company’s record of Xbox launched products. Of course this is music to the ears of Microsoft’s investors, let alone the excitement from gamers at it’s latest accessory release.

Microsoft‘s Xbox Kinect allows the player to control the functions on the screen by movement of their body. These movements are picked up by the sensor bar which contains a series of cameras. Sensors can be purchased individually or as part of a bundle including a game or with the Xbox 360 console itself.

Although released today, we understand that some gamers have already taken delivery of the Kinect camera. It has also been the case that a number of gamers have managed to gain access to Call Of Duty Black Ops before its November 9th release date.

Are you one of the lucky few that have received your Kinect sensor early? Do you think that the sales projection hike is achievable? Let us know. Head on over to BGR for more information.
