LG Offers 60 Windows Phone 7 Apps Every 60 Days

With the launch of Windows Phone 7 back at the beginning of October, came news of ten devices along with their carriers. Devices include LG, HTC, Samsung and Dell. Competition of these new handsets is tight and with the holiday season just around the corner, consumers will be looking for the best deal with the money they have to spend. So this is where LG comes into the picture!

For now, LG has teamed up with Microsoft to give away free “quality” apps to owners of LG Windows Phone 7 handsets. There will be ten free apps given away every 60 days through the LG app store. If totalled up, the apps would cost in the region of $30. This is in addition to the current free apps already being offered such as PlayTo media streaming. In a report from Thomas Ricker at Engadget, it seems that the two companies will hand pick free quality apps including those relating to social connectivity, gaming and other helpful items. A big marketing campaign will take place in LG in-store sales events, plus through their LG Mobile Global Facebook page in the hope to engage developers and customers together.

In a recent statement from Director for Windows Phone at Microsoft “Brandon Watson” he said, “We built the new Windows Phone Marketplace to create new business opportunities for developers and partners alike. This collaboration with LG creates a win-win situation for consumers and developers and will further showcase the variety of quality games and applications available on Windows Phone 7.”
