“Friendship Pages”: Facebook’s new feature

Dominant social network Facebook has rolled out yet another new feature for us called “Friendship Pages”. Cleverly the site strings together things such as photos (via tagging), comments and wall posts that you and your friends have in common.

The main objective of friendship pages is to tell the story of two friends through shared activity. It seems a very good way to have small online reunions with your old school friends, if you all keep your old photos on Facebook. Happy days! A picture of how the new layout of friendship pages looks can be found on Mashable.

The new idea was invented and brought to life by Facebook employee Wayne Kao, at one of the companies monthly hackathon events. “They can bring back memories, conversations and times spent together,” said Kao. With this unique new addition to the site, it really does bring you closer to friends old and new. In my opinion it is good that Facebook are regularly updating the social part of the site as well as some of the others, such as games, apps and security settings.
