Sony PlayStation Phone: More Details

We reported on OSM back in August, about the possible release of a new PlayStation Phone running on Google’s Android 3.0 OS, a hybrid mobile and gaming device. News has filtered through today of the device’s existence along with some possible details.

Ben Parr at Mashable has reported on pictures that have been made available via courtesy of Engadget. Although details have not been officially confirmed, we can give you snippets of information. The PlayStation Phone developed by Sony Ericsson, will incorporate an approximate screen size of 3.7 inch, 5 mp camera, 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 512 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM, multi-touch interface, slide-out gaming pad, Android Gingerbread OS, trigger buttons and microSD card support.

As with new offerings, we will not be able to get our hands on one of these just yet, as the device is still a prototype, but chances are we will see one of these sometime in 2011. It seems that Sony and Google have definitely pulled something special out of the bag this time, and should competitors such as Apple be worried?
