White iPhone Delay: Apple Excuses Roundup

There has been speculation for some time as to when we can expect to see the elusive “White iPhone 4”. Although it seems the white version has been seen on a couple of occasions in different locations, delays for the rest of us have been put down to the white color of the home button being a different shade to that of the handset’s faceplate.

For those of you who have been patiently waiting, the last few months have been a testing time. PG Mag.com reported on delays which were first announced back in July, with CEO for Apple “Steve Jobs” saying, “White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected.” Then came news of the release date being, “Later this year.” We reported on 15 October, that a white iPhone 4 was seen in the hands of a man in NYC. When quizzed on where he got his device from, he said that at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino they are, “Swimming with white iPhones, and that a friend who works there “fixed him up” with the white handset.”

It is difficult what to believe? Why would an Apple employee be giving out white versions willy nilly to friends? So where does this leave you? Currently if you log onto Apple’s official site, you will be greeted with the white handset being, “Currently unavailable for order or in-store pickup.”

Are you one of those people waiting? Have you given up hope? Let us know. To read more on this log onto PCMag.com

I have been waiting. Coworkers are all laughing at me for wanting it soooo bad. I think they think I am crazy, but I say that it's a preference. Laugh away.
