Google Android 3.0 (Gingerbread) Tablet PCs: End Of Year

News has filtered through today, of Google’s Android OS with some updated features to be named “Android 3.0 Gingerbread,” giving that platform support for tablet devices. With the updated OS in the last stages of finalization, it is hoped that devices will start to be ready by the end of 2010 if not before. This latest announcement comes at a time when we expected devices to be available sometime next year.

According to Softpedia, a recent article flagged up by DigiTimes, reported on the new concept being ready soon while the tablet PC engineer samples would start to emerge in December. At a time when new tablet PC’s are expected early January, companies such as Acer, Asustek Computer and Micro-Star International are sitting tight for the arrival of the Android 3.0 Gingerbread. Other Android 3.0 tablet PC counterparts ready to launch their gadgets include HTC Corporation, Motorola and Samsung’s “Android 3.0 Galaxy Tab.”

In an ever increasing market of tablet PC’s, Android’s version is looking very much like the cheaper alternative.
