Android Angry Birds: GetJar Download Demand Criticized

Earlier last week we reported to you that GetJar would be making Angry Birds available for free for Android users. Since the app was launched on Friday there have been more that 1 million downloads. However, GetJar has been criticized for not being prepared enough for such a huge demand on the servers.

It is not as if GetCar could say that they did not think that the app would be popular, we have already seen the huge success for the iPhone – and you had to pay for that version. Whenever my friend tried to download the Rovio game he was met with the message saying that there was some kind of temporary technical problem.

You do not have to be a rocket scientist to understand what these technical issues are; thankfully Android users have now been able to download the game, but I am certain that they were very frustrated on the day.

We cannot allow JetCar to take all of the blame, even the big boys have outages – Facebook and Twitter are fine examples of this. This is not the first time that such a thing will cause servers to slow down; it is something that we have all learned to live with. More details on this can be found on ITProPortal.

How long did you have to wait until you were able to download Angry Birds for Android?
