Apple’s “Back To The Mac” Event October 20

We are used to Apple announcing launches for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, but today we have learned of a Mac event, aptly named “Back To The Mac.” It will take place on October 20 in the Town Hall on Apple’s Cupertino Campus. Due to take place at 10.00 am PT, we are hoping that news of the new MacBook Air, Mac OX X10.7, iLife and iWork’11 will be released.

According to AppleInsider, speculation has been surrounding the MacBook Air and a complete overhaul, incorporating a smaller 11.6-inch display than its predecessor. The target audience has been aimed at students and the business professional. Whilst at the event, we may be lucky enough to preview the next Mac OS X 10.7 operating system. Reports have said that invitations sent out have had a lion peaking out from behind the Apple logo. Is this an indication of things to come?

Lastly, October 20 may shed some light on the beginning of redesign features on iLife and iWork. The last we heard on this was back in 2009.

What announcements would you like to hear at Apple’s latest event? Let us know your thoughts. Log onto AppleInsider for more information.

If Microsoft was the one using a feline codename for Windows, then "Garfield" would be appropriate for how bloated it is.
