Windows Phone 7: List of ten devices and carriers

We reported on the launch of “Windows Phone 7” this morning at an event in New York. It was difficult at that time to confirm what devices and carriers would be enjoying the benefits of the new OS. But now, as promised, we have confirmation of what to expect in the coming weeks.

According to Thomas Ricker at Engadget, he has reported on nine new WVGA displayed Windows Phone 7 handsets, available for your enjoyment from October 21. They will run from four handset manufacturers which will include, Dell, HTC, LG and Samsung all benefiting from a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm. Engadget have reported on over 60 mobile phone operators being available in more than 30 countries by the end of the year. The operators will include América Móvil, AT&T, Deutsche Telekom AG, Movistar, O2, Orange, SFR, SingTel, Telstra, TELUS, T-Mobile USA and Vodafone.

From October 21, European and Asian markets will benefit from the first arrivals whilst the U.S. will have to wait until at least November 8. As well as this fantastic news from Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer today, we can look forward to “Xbox Live” integration with EA Games, along with Microsoft services and platforms such as Office Mobile, Bing Search, Windows Live and Zune.
