Terrell Owens Twitter: Bengals Star Violates NFL Rules

It was only a couple of months ago back in August, that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco received a $25,000 fine for violating NFL rules and tweeting during a pre-season game. Now, fellow Bengals star Terrell Owens has done pretty much the same thing.

According to an article at The Associated Press by Joe Kay, a message posted on Terrell Owens’ Twitter page – which stated that a fan who was wearing his jersey at Sunday’s game would get a signed football – an hour before kick-off, violated NFL rules against using social media websites before games.

The message he posted read: “A lucky fan wearing my jersey 2day will get a signed football by Me and Ocho Cinco!” When Owens was questioned about the tweet following his team’s 24-21 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he became quite angry.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said that the league would be looking into it. When Owens was told that he may well face a considerable fine for posting the tweet before the game, he said: “What, are you going to fine me? Is that really relevant right now?”
