No “Angry Birds” For Windows Phone 7

For those of you, who were under the illusion that the game “Angry Birds” was coming to “Windows Phone 7”, news has filtered through today, that this is not the case. Game developers “Rovio” have confirmed that any speculation surrounding this is untrue.

According to Samuel Axon at Mashable, rumors became rife after an image was spotted on Microsoft’s website, indicating the game would be enlisted onto the Windows Phone 7 platform. In a bid to appeal to a wider number of iPhone and Android users, Microsoft is in no doubt that they will benefit from having Rovio on board. The developers have commented on this by saying, “We don’t like others using our [intellectual property] without asking.”

To make the message more poignant, they went on to Twitter and tweeted, “Nothing to do with if we do or don’t, it’s just that we decide that for ourselves … We could do a WP7 version of Angry Birds, not the issue. We have not agreed to do that (yet). Will support all relevant platforms.” Currently, Angry Birds is a popular game on the iPhone, Android, webOS and some Nokia phones. Microsoft are now hoping that sometime in the near future, they to, can enjoy the benefits.
