The weeks top 10 Twitter trends

In this weeks top 10 trends on Twitter we have an outrageous mix up in comparison to what we saw last week. We only have 3 survivors from last weeks chart that was kindly provided by Mashable and you will never what those are!

Ok, to kick things off at the top we have the Brazilian election which is the hottest talking point of the week. The election was held on October 3rd and with no clear winner taking over 50% of the votes there will be a run-off election at the end of the month. Most of the candidates have Twitter, which is why the topic also attracted a lot of attention.

This weeks runner up is the TV show Glee, which is up 1 place since last weeks chart. The spotlight was on the cameo of Britney Spears last time around and this week it was about the character Finn and his grilled cheese. The NFL is in at 3rd this week, also rising up the list from number 6. The biggest news this week was the trade of Randy Moss from the New England Patriots to the Minnesota Vikings.

The Nobel Prize is this weeks number 4 with all of the chatter being aimed at British physiologist Robert Edwards and Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa. Dutch politics comes in at 5th this week after the Dutch Christian Democrats formed a coalition with the Dutch Liberals. Another big talking point of the week has been a rumored leaked mix tape concocted by Drake, T.I., Fabulous, Kanye West, Andre 3000 and Rick Ross; which earns Fan of a Fan Remix its place at number 6 remix.

In 7th places is the MBA, after the Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay threw a no-hitter against the Reds in the National League playoffs. The last survivor from last week is Twitter at number 8 with talk still being on the website redesign coming soon. The TV show 106 & Park is your number 9 for this week after celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special episode.

And last but not least this week is the sports game NBA 2K11, as fans cued up at midnight to grab a copy of the game.
