Facebook Rudeness Results In 16 Students Suspended

Online social networking site “Facebook,” is growing in user numbers by the day, and as well as the site being a good tool for people to communicate with one another, it also has its downsides. For instance, posting rude and abusive comments on Facebook can have dire consequences. This is just what happened to 16 students in India.

News has come in, of “Vivek High” private school students, leaving nasty remarks about a female maths teacher who worked at the educational establishment. Subir at Digital Journal reported that, the trouble started when one of the students “Asaf Parvez,” son of an important government official, posted comments on low marks he received during a maths exam, aiming his bad feeling towards the teacher. Subsequently, fifteen of his classmates, decided to join in. The students were caught out, when another teacher spotted the posts.

School chairman “HS Mamik” has commented, “”We cannot tolerate indiscipline and disrespect towards any teacher. In fact we had formed a committee where parents, teachers and these students were called. The students confessed the wrong doing and agreed for any punishment.” The students, on the otherhand have said, that the school has no right to look into their personal and online lives. It is invading their privacy.
