iPhone: Nike + GPS App 2.0 With Facebook Support

It was nearly four weeks ago, when sports brand “Nike” released its new iPhone app for runners. With GPS included, it was set to help runners in a bid to stay fit and keep them motivated. News has come through today, of a new 2.0 version with the added benefit of involvement from networking site “Facebook”.

According to Jennifer Van Grove at Mashable, if users to the app also have a Facebook account, then with the help of their friends moral support as they run, it will spur them on to stay in shape and lose those pounds! As well as the app already visually mapping, tracking, giving distances and pace results, it will now act as a motivational tool.

For Facebook to be involved, the user can access the “Cheer Me on” run setting, then a status update from Nike + GPS will be posted to the person’s profile that will say, “Cheer me on with a comment and I’ll get it on the run”. During the user’s exercise regime, they can view comments from their friends. Along with the 2.0 version, users can now enjoy yet another feature, “One More PowerSong”, which is hoped to give users that extra push to beat their past running records.
