Toshiba unveil their first glasses free 3D TV

Technology is growing before our eyes at the moment as Toshiba has taken 3D one step further with a glasses free TV. We have all been using the viewing phenomenon for the last year or so and now it has been revolutionized.

Satellite giants Sky launched their 3D channel for home use on Friday and so far the reception has been positive. We have all experienced 3D with the glasses up until now, whether in the cinema or our lounge; however Toshiba’s new creations will change all of that.

Earlier the huge electrical company showed off 2 models which are the 20GL1 and 12GL1; both are small TVs at around 12″ and 20″ screens according to Engadget. The flash new products will be shipping in Japan this December and after mass production these sizes will increase as they are distributed round the rest of the world.

We dont have a huge amount of details in terms of a US and Europe release however pricing has been structured at around ¥240,000 ($2,885) and ¥120,000 ($1,443). We will bring you more details when we get them.

Now that we have seen Toshiba’s glasses free 3D invention, I think I will hold back on buying a new TV for now as the idea of no glasses seems very appealing, as well as a leap forward in technology. However if you set aside all of this new business; Sony have just announced their new Google integrated TV which seems worth a look.
