Bose Introduce 46-Inch VideoWave LCD With 13 Speakers

Bose may have taken a back seat recently, but with the introduction of its new VideoWave System they could be working their way back to the top. Whilst Bose is one of the top players in virtual surround and home theatre systems, VideoWave will be the company’s first TV.

In a report by Mashable, VideoWave conceals six subwoofers and seven surround sound speakers within the body and top bezel of the 46-inch LCD display. With “phase guide radiator technology”, the system creates the perception of surround sound by bouncing soundwaves off the walls to give “actual” surround sound.

To help the system, Bose ADAPTiQ audio calibration system, automatically changes the sound settings depending on room size and VideoWave positioning. The benefits are, that you can have the ultimate in surround sound systems without the need to have speakers dotted around the room. As far as we can see, the only negative is that the display is only CCFL backlit rather than the more modern LED backlit units, this can only be down to the amount of sound equipment stored within the TV.

When you want the best you have to pay the price and the Bose system is no exception. Retailing at $5,350 when it finally reaches the Bose stores on October 14, will you be willing to pay the extra for VideoWave? To read more log onto Mashable
