Blackberry Torch 9800: Out in the U.K on Friday

After a lot of anticipation, RIM’s Blackberry Torch 9800 is launching this week in the U.K. We have had reports from Electric Pig that Phones 4U are getting hold of its first batch of the Blackberry 6s on Friday.

The phone comes with a 5 mega pixel camera, WiFi, GPS with Blackberry Maps, Blackberry Messenger and a 3.2in touchscreen. The Torch has been available for pre-order from different network providers such as Orange and Vodafone.

Phones 4U are are offering the device for £35 a month on a 24 month contract with Orange and Vodafone are selling the Torch for £37.50 a month on a contract for 24 months. Both mobile companies are also giving the option to buy the device for free on a £40 a month, 18 month contract.

It was revealed today from Mashable that Blackberry is the most owned phone in the U.S, ahead of Apple’s iPhone and Android. Hopefully the Torch will live up to the expectation and prove to be a force in the mobile market.
