iPad Alternatives: BlackBerry PlayBook

For those of you out there who are thinking of purchasing a tablet device but are considering something other than an Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy S, then it may be time to explore the new “BlackBerry PlayBook” set for release some time next year. News has come through today of Research in Motion (RIM) releasing a new equivalent to the iPad.

Reports have indicated that the new PlayBook will incorporate a 7-inch display, smaller than that of the 9.7-inch on the iPad and at first glance, the new BlackBerry appears to be just as thin but flatter, therefore giving easy portability. Evan at SlashGear reported that, users will be encouraged to hear that the PlayBook will give multitasking capabilities as well as connection to other BlackBerry devices via Bluetooth. Along with this, the tablet will give the ability to play 1080p high-definition video as well the PlayBook being used as a gaming platform.

Currently, it seems, we are still in the dark as to when a 3G model will be launched as well as finding out how much memory will be included. Although, we have a little while to wait until we can source more details, this may be the future tablet that we cannot get enough of?
