Facebook: Nurse Dies On Flight After Excited Update

Sad news today has been announced of nurse “Claire Aitken” who died Friday aboard a plane flying out to Barbados. For the friends and family left behind, what must have made the news more upsetting, is that Claire Aitken had updated her Facebook status just hours beforehand, announcing her excitement about the trip.

The Mail Online reported that, on waiting in the airport lounge and having a drink with partner “Nick Grantham“, the 42-year old senior nurse accessed her Facebook account and updated her status at 7.43 pm on Friday.

It was only when they arrived at “Grantley Adams International Airport” in Bridgetown, she was pronounced dead. Reports indicate that she had collapsed on the Virgin Atlantic plane. A spokesman for the airline has said, “We can confirm that a female passenger travelling on flight VS035 sadly died onboard”. Virgin Atlantic has expressed their sympathy to the family and friends of Claire Aitken.
