Blackberry Playbook Specs: Incredible gaming platform

There has been quite a lot of speculation over the past few months, that RIM would be introducing a new BlackBerry tablet PC onto the market. Now we know that all the speculation was correct, as RIM has just announced the launch of its BlackBerry Playbook.

Of course most of you will now be itching to find out the specs on the new BlackBerry Playbook, and I have to say they do look pretty impressive. As reported by Dragos Pirvu at softsailor.com, RIM’s new tablet PC will be powered by a 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor.

It also features a 7-inch screen with multi-touch support, 1GB RAM, and 16GB/32GB storage. However, there has been no mention of MicroSD card support. The BlackBerry Playbook also sports front and rear cameras – 3-megapixels at the front and 5-megapixels at the rear.

This of course means that it supports video conferencing. The Playbook comes with a MicroUSB port, a HDMI port, Bluetooth 2.1 support and WiFi 802.11a/g/n. RIM has described the BlackBerry Playbook as an incredible gaming platform not only for players, but for publishers as well.

Overrated? Lol. When!?! They are saying it will be DOA, they also complain about the screen size, many don't approve of the "Needing a BB phone" to access RIM's email/calender client it's been called an awesome fail and even an extra plate for your dinning table!

No it's not the iPad killer (HTC will once again handle that) but for those of us who do not need 10 inches to show our viability and who also realize that having a piece of equipment that supports both HTML5 and Flash which allows for a true web experience without buying/downloading an "App for that" makes it a competent entertainment piece – will be happy with this overrated tablet.

Especially when they get the communication/contact situation in order.
