Netflix and NBC strike a deal – includes “Saturday Night Live”

It seems that the internet-based rental company Netflix which recently launched a streaming only rental system in Canada, has just made a giant deal with NBC Universal which will mean a huge amount of new content in its library.

The streaming video site will benefit not only from NBC content but also that of its other cable network partners and the deal will include every single season of Saturday Night Live for example, including new episodes on the day after the original airing, according to Samuel Axon over on Mashable. Although the new season of Saturday Night Live just began this last weekend, it’s not available yet but as soon as the deal is finalized the content will be available.

Netflix and NBC Universal have issued a press release but do not specify how long the deal will last apart from the fact that Saturday Night Live day-after episodes will definitely be available throughout 2012. The release also says that some Universal movies will also be available but goes into no further detail of exact content.

It appears that Netflix certainly realize the importance of content to its success and are continuing to expand on its already huge choice. For more on this go to mashable.com. What do you think of this latest Netflix deal? Why not send us your comments to let us know.
