Facebook Movie: Will it be a success?

Last Friday at the New York Film Festival, The Social Network was premiered. The film is about how Facebook was started based on documents relating to the lawsuit that Mark Zuckerberg stole the idea from his former college roommates.

Lucy Black of I Programmer is reporting the film also shows the breakup of the relationship over money between Zuckerberg and co-founder of Facebook Eduardo Saverin. Mark Zuckerberg is having nothing to do with the film, or the book it’s based on “The Accidental Billionaires — The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal.”

So far the film has received good reviews and goes on general release on October 1st in the US. There has even been early talk of Oscar nominations. But Facebook CEO Zuckerberg is unhappy with the film, as it shows him as disloyal, money grabbing computer nerd.

Whether the film is true to events we may never know, but will people be interested in seeing it? Time will tell. Will you go and see the film when it is released?
