Facebook Fixed: Back up and running

Facebookers rejoice! The site is back up and running. As you will know last night, the site was down for a few hours and was affecting people from all over the world. However the problem has been fixed for now, as it came back online at around 11pm (UK Time).

It is still not crystal clear what caused the glitch as Facebook would not say what caused the disruption according to Itpro. We had reports from Product-reviews last night, suggesting that the error was with “service disruption”. This is the most likely problem, which prevented users from accessing their accounts.

The message that people would be frustratingly greeted with would be “DNS Failure”, which led people to believe it was an error on their part. However this was not the case as users from all over the world reported that they would not log in. Thankfully now Mark Zuckerberg and his team have swiftly dealt with this issue so we can all log in and harvest our crops on Farmville and see which of our friends have “liked” our status.
