Disney: Uses Social Media To Release New Ad Campaign

Social Media can be used as a tool to communicate with others over the internet. It can be by way of weblogs, pod casts, internet forums and so on. Used in the right way, it acts as a fantastic way for individuals or companies to advertise themselves and for users to source information. The latest company to get in on the act is “Walt Disney Parks and Resorts”.

According to Christina at Mashable, in a recent ad campaign, “Let the Memories Begin”, Disney are using real footage from family holidays. By using their photos and videos, Disney is carefully putting together a campaign that will give people the opportunity to re-live their holiday memories at Disney World or Disneyland. Look out for television ads which will be shown on our screens! Users to online social networking sites such as YouTube, Facebook and MySpace will be able to post their own memories when Disney takes on future promotions etc.

As well as this, Disney will be incorporating its new campaign into the theme parks by giving families the option of evening experiences starting January next year. At Disney World, Orlando, visitors to the park will see photos projected onto the back of the spires of the iconic “Cinderella Castle” in the Magic Kingdom. Some 500 photos are planned to be shown each day at this very spot.
