New Dell Android Tablet: Larger than Streak

Hot on the heels of the Dell Streak, the Android-based 5-inch tablet released last month, it appears that Dell is preparing to launch its next tablet device, although this time around it will have a 7-inch screen.

Michael Dell, the company’s CEO, announced the new device yesterday at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco but currently there’s not a whole lot of information we can tell you. Apart from knowing it will have a bigger screen than the Streak, there’s no news yet on price, availability or specs, or even a name, according to Erica Ogg over on cnet news.

There is speculation though that the new Dell tablet will be the Dell Looking Glass tablet, leaked in documents way back in April this year and said at the time to be coming in November. After an initial lull from the competition when the Apple iPad was first launched it seems that the other big tech giants are now being spurred into action with a BlackBerry tablet on the way, and of course the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab which has a lot of people talking about it.

For more on this go to cnet.com. Would you be interested in purchasing a 7-inch Dell android-based tablet device, or maybe you’re tempted to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Tab? You may of course be a die-hard iPad fan? We’re always interested to hear your opinions so please do send in your comments about this.
