Amazon Kindle: U.S. Store Enjoys Over 700,000 Books

The “Amazon Kindle” which has been recently released by Amazon.com will give its users the accessibility to purchase and store thousands of book content. Following on from a recent update today, Amazon have now added voice search as well as a Wikipedia dictionary.

According to Leena at TechCrunch, an interesting statistic has been announced that the U.S. Kindle store has over 700,000 books compared to 670,000 just three weeks ago. At the end of April, a comparison in numbers of book titles was made between the U.S. and U.K. kindle stores, and the U.S. won hands down.

Amazon have said how proud they are of their latest device, with the ever increasing number of people purchasing the e-reader. It appears that they have sold three times as many Kindle devices in the first part of this year compared to 2009.

Will this latest gadget manage to outdo its competitors such as the Apple iPad? Only time will tell. Give us your comments. To find out more on this log onto TechCrunch
