Google Earth 3.1 Released For iOS

For those of you out there who are unfamiliar with “Google Earth”, it is a virtual globe, map and gives its users the advantage of finding out more in-depth information about our planet. In recent years it has been available on PC’s but back in 2008, the free downloadable app, available from the app store, became accessible on the iPhone.

It has now been announced that Google have released the next version of Google Earth for iOS, the “3.1”. According to Ben Parr at Mashable, this latest edition incorporating “Retina Display” will give its users the benefit of looking into the world’s oceans. Not only will you be able to see life beneath the waters but the app will give you some indication of the oceans measurements.

Information has been made possible with the aid of Wikipedia and the “Sylvia Earle Alliance”, a non-profit organisation set up to concentrate on the well-being of marine protected areas.
