YouTube Play Project Finalists Revealed

Ever since YouTube announced that it was joining up with the Guggenheim Museum to launch the YouTube Play project back in June, it has received an amazing response. In fact, the project has attracted a total of 23,000 entries, Google has recently reported.

According to a report at guardian.co.uk, the Guggenheim’s chief curator Nancy Spector, said that the idea of the project was to reach a broader public and find hidden artistic talent through the popular video sharing website. The list however has now been shortlisted to just 125.

However, only 20 of the 125 actually make it through to the final selection, which is due to be announced at the Guggenheim Museum on October 21st. They will also go on display at the Guggenheim New York, Berlin, Bilbao and Venice from October 22nd to October 24th.

You can view the meme remix mix tape video below this post, or visit the YouTube Play channel to see more about the 125 that have been shortlisted. Are you one of the people who sent a video to the YouTube Play project? We’d be interested to hear from you if you are.
