Nokia N8: Delayed to add final touches

If you were planning on receiving your sparkling new Nokia N8 by the end of this month then I am afraid you will be a little disappointed. Nokia has said that they are making “some final amends” to their eagerly awaited product and there will be about a months delay.

In a statement from Nokia today courtesy of Engadget the company says: “The amount of preorders has exceeded our expectations and we are working hard to deliver the Nokia N8 to the market. In some markets, we had planned to start delivering the Nokia N8s to our pre-order customers by the end of September. To ensure a great user experience, we have decided to hold the shipments for a few weeks to do some final amends. We’re thrilled with the response that we’ve had to the Nokia N8 and assure everyone who’ve pre-ordered it already that it’ll be worth the wait! We expect consumers to get their Nokia N8s during October.”

So it is clear that the phone is in very high demand and as a result has been postponed further. This will be frustrating for the masses who have been waiting for the phone as it has already been prolonged and many were counting down the days on their calendar. On the other hand, this is not the worst possible news as some reports suggested the delay could be as far back as November.

We have brought you other N8 coverage this month with news such as “contract details“, “official release dates” and that “Pamela Anderson will be promoting” the product in a TV advert.
