Card 2.0: The new face of credit cards

Here at Online Social Media we’re always interested to hear of any advances in technology although there’s not often news in the way of futuristic credit cards. However today meet Credit Card 2.0 which looks to be the way forward in credit cards. It’s a new innovation from startup firm Dynamics which has recently won awards at DEMO in Silicon Valley.

Not only did Credit Card 2.0 win the first prize at the startup conference but it also gained the people’s choice award. An article by Jolie O’Dell over on Mashable describes Credit Card 2.0 as “half credit card, half futuristic gadget,” and apparently it will be possible to have the same card for multiple accounts and get this…hide some numbers on the card. This is made possible as the numbers are ultra-thin and embedded in the card.

If you’re wondering whether this is just some futuristic invention that won’t be actually viable now, as is often the case with so many startup products, then wonder no more. Dynamics CEO, Jeff Mullen said that the company has already been working with some of the big banks for testing and also said cards with bank-branding would be launching soon. It certainly looks promising for Dynamics that it already has some of the major players in the banking world interested.
