Amir Khan Uses Twitter To Announce Next Fight

Online social networking site “Twitter” is now proving itself to be one of the popular sites of today. Since its launch in 2006, it has seen a staggering 100 million users. A percentage of these users are celebrities. They have been known to use the site to tweet, announce news or to have a good old rant! Today, it is the turn of boxer “Amir Khan”.

David Anderson at Mirror.co.uk reported that Khan has now announced his latest fight with the help of Twitter. In a bid to defend his current WBA light-welterweight title, he will be up against Argentinean“Marcos Maidana” on December 11. At this stage, it is not clear where the venue will take place but on Khans latest tweet, it may be held at “Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay”.

Khan, a British Pakistani boxer from Bolton, Greater Manchester won the belt at the young age of 22. This makes him Britain’s third-youngest world champion. His latest record shows Khan as winning 23 out of 24 fights with 17 of those being a clear knockout! Pretty impressive.
