New Twitter Website Interface Released

If you don’t like change, look away now. A few days ago I wrote an article about Bejewelled Blitz, and one of the reasons why the game succeeds is that it’s not afraid to innovate and change things up. Twitter is singing from that same hymn sheet, as they have announced that they will be rolling out a new version of the Twitter.com web interface.

According to an article over on Mashable written by Adam Ostrow, Twitter is now rolling out a redesign of their websites user interface. Previously you had the single thin Twitter feed in the middle of the screen, now you get a double pane interface, with your messages on your left and stats on the right. Click on a tweet, and you get information about the person who sent their message or the video/picture that they posted.

For those who prefer watching videos over reading, Twitter has released a video showing the new changes as well as some clever filmmaking. The video has been embedded below for your viewing pleasure. As well as a new redesign, Twitter has also been striking deals with 16 other companies, which include YouTube, Justin TV, DeviantART and TwitPic, amongst others.

For more information about the new redesign, watch the embedded video below, or check out the Mashable article. Is this a welcome change for Twitter, or should they have stayed the same? Let us know in the comments.
